COLOUR YOUR LIFE WORKSHOP
During this 3 day workshop, participants are encouraged to experiment and play with colour, becoming aware of how best to support the essence of their artwork through the use of colour.
As an energy, colour works on a cellular level helping to shift issues locked into our cells. Colour allows us to discover what is our truth and where we are stuck in ideas that no longer serve us. As artists, we are truly blessed, in that our work becomes a self healing process.
This involves a group discussion where pupils bring works for a crit. The class is supported by technical advice on various processes of creating an artwork.
This is not a painting session but a group discussion where each work is evaluated on it own merit. Time is spent looking at various options for developing the artwork further.
The most important aspect of a painting is what the artist is trying to say. To this end, it is important that the use of colour, brushstroke, composition, tonal value etc support this.
LOOSEN YOUR STYLE WORKSHOP
Generally speaking, the question that comes up most often with those learning to paint, is “How do I loosen up?”
This 3 day workshop is designed to help the pupil loosen up his/her own style and become more courageous and confident. Supported by technical information the pupil is encouraged to interpret more of the essence of the subject and less of the detail.
This results in a more expansive and less fussy interpretation
INTUITIVE ART WORKSHOP
Most of us take an image or the subject we want to paint and impose it on the canvas. Starting with a drawing, we tend to finish it off as a coloured-in painting, often at a loss at what to do with the background.
In this workshop time is spent preparing the canvas with colour washes and texture. This time of play with the canvas and colour leads to exciting and unexpected effects offering multiple opportunities which lead to unique expressions.
