My passion for colour has been a constant throughout my life. It has become the medium through which I reflect my spiritual journey. Like the layers of an onion, the energy of colour reveals itself on ever-deeper levels, changing and influencing our lives far beyond our expectations and even awareness. We relate to colour on a level that mirrors our personal journeys, which involves the viewer as an integral part of the creative process.

INSPIRATION

• I see each artwork as a journey where nothing is pre-planned, but evolves from the canvas, often undergoing many changes of direction in the process.
  
• Colour, light and Divine Guidance continue to be my underlying source of inspiration
  
• I choose to do art that I feel is uplifting to the viewer
  

• Trained at the University of the Witwatersrand.
• Moved to Hermanus, South Africa in 1986.
• Ran my own dance studio for a number of years before founding The Shelley Adams Art Centre.
• 10 years later I returned to being a full time artist
• Many collectors continuously add my work to their collections
  
• My artworks have been exhibited in various galleries in South Africa, as well as in Edinburgh and London.
  
• My work is to be found in private collections both nationally and internationally
