Shelley sees each artwork as a journey, reflecting her strong beliefs in philosophy. Nothing is pre-planned, but evolves from the canvas, often undergoing many changes of direction in the process. Colour, light and Divine guidance continue to be her underlying source of inspiration. Her unique style pleases the most discerning eye and soothes the soul. Many collectors of her work continuously add her work to their collections.
Shelley trained at the University of the Witwatersrand (Johannesburg, South Africa) under Erica Berry And Cecily Sash. Born in Johannesburg, she and her family, moved to Hermanus in 1986. Always having been involved in ballet and contemporary dance, Shelley ran her own dance studio for a number of years before founding the Shelley Adams Art Centre.Having taught for 10 years, she has now returned to painting full time.
Shelley Adams' artworks have been exhibited in various galleries in South Africa, as well as in the UK, in particular, Edinburgh and London. Her work is to be found in private collections both nationally and internationally | |
